Group settings

Beepr uses the concept of an alert group to organize monitors. In the group settings, you can rename the alert group or adjust the alert intensity using Priority Mode.

Priority mode

We know you don’t want to be bothered by false positives, so Beepr checks your service every minute. The best part? You decide when alerts are sent, so you stay in control.

Beepr's app sends alerts (Beeps) whenever something isn't right with a monitor. We understand that alerts could wake you up in the middle of the night, so Priority Mode gives you control over when you receive notifications. You can set the alert sensitivity at the group level, deciding how many failed checks should trigger an alert or how long an issue should persist. This is also where you can schedule alerts to match your SLAs.

NOTE! Every failure is logged in the Incident Log, even if no alert is sent. So, if a monitor goes down briefly and recovers on its own, we won’t interrupt your sleep. Alerts are sent only based on your chosen priority level and the schedule you set for specific times and days.

Alert Sensitivity

  • Priority 1: Checks every minute. If a failure is detected, the system rechecks every 10 seconds. If both checks fail, an alert is sent immediately.
  • Priority 2: Checks every minute. If a failure is detected, the system rechecks every 10 seconds. If the issue still persists after 5 minutes, an alert is sent.
  • Priority 3: Checks every minute. If a failure is detected, the system rechecks every 10 seconds. If the issue still persists after 10 minutes, an alert is sent.

Slack integration

Integrating Beepr with Slack allows you to receive alerts and have a dedicated communication channel to troubleshoot issues together. Here’s how it works:

You can connect any Beepr alert group to a dedicated Slack channel. When an alert is triggered, Beepr will open a thread in the configured Slack channel, including an incident number that corresponds to the Beepr Incident Timeline page.

If multiple failures occur within the same alert group, Beepr will automatically group them together. These additional failures won’t trigger new alerts but will be visible in the incident Slack thread and the Incident Timeline. This keeps all failures related to an incident in one place, ensuring that your communication isn’t scattered across multiple channels and platforms.
